the ones that got away

i wish i had the cash to purchase this beautiful poster....

and this perfectly time-warn coffee table and chest....

and this delightfully iron-spirally door....

or even one or two of these lovely kettles....
..... on this past sunday at the alameda antique fair. instead, these fine photos and my memories will have to do.
perhaps in december,
jendita, yes?

but i did purchase one thing. and hopefully i'll be able to show it off in its new home by tomorrow.

jendita says yes! i have a mighty list of things to hunt. the irish dancers will be in town... hopefully that will not keep my from my antiques destiny!

yes cote de texas ~ it's staggering to think of not only all the things that've gotten away, but also all the litte items we've lost or misplaced. there are some things i still wish i could find and have no idea how they disappeared.

alright miss.mighty.list.j. you're on, that is if the irish don't supersede.

Ooh...fun! I want to come with you some time. I heart flea markets.

Where was that ?? It looks like antiques fair in France

great idea calie ~ it's always on the first sunday of the month and starts at 9:00am {that is, for the discounted entry rate of $5. if you go earlier than 9:00 it's $15 ~ but that is a bit more hardcore don't you think?}. ;o)

melanie ~ it takes place in alameda california, just along the east side of the san francisco bay. it might be similar to french flea markets, but it's nothing like italian ones. i went to some in milan and sienna that were much more quaint, filled with more consistent quality, and much less competitive. but still, the alameda market is a blast if you go with the right attitude and wear comfy shoes.
