i've been looking for something like this in a bathtub for a client, but i'm pretty impressed with the sink i found instead. it's sold by moab 80, an italian plumbing fixtures design & manufacturing power house. this is a sink without a faucet. that's right ~ no faucet. instead it has water flow channels molded directly into the sink. i really like the sleekness of this, but i wish they had put the control cube at the back or on the side panel instead ~ making it less conspicuous. the standard version comes in white corian but you can custom order it in any corian color.

hola...ms. wellspring...
i once almost did a lav...hesitate to call it a lav...with a custom fabricated sheet metal drain trough...hidden in the wall...with a rigid slot to hold a piece of 1/2" tempered glass...that is cantilevered...projecting out of the wall...angled up at about 15-20 degrees...just a straight pc of glass sticking out...with a narrow slot at the wall for the water to drain into...the faucet can be a standard wall mount...dornbracht or similar...when the stream of water hits the glass, it makes about a 6"-8" diameter "pool" and then drains back to the wall...you might think it would splash and leak off to the sides, but it doesn't...try it sometime...
yours is the "no faucet lav"...maybe someday you can use this concept...the "no lav lav"...
it goes to my favorite design concept these days..."primal refinement"...or "refined primal"...something like that...
my oh my, alex, that sounds incredible. very creative. i'd love to have the opportunity to try that out sometime.
and i like your new description "refined primal" .... i'll try it out around the office & let you know if it catches on. ;o)
